For advertisers, they have partnered industry-leading brands in offering more effective content-driven solutions.Overview:Looking for China-based correspondents to report on mainland China, along with developments involving Hong Kong and Taiwan.The successful candidate will be part of Exciting expansion in reporting East Asia affairs and issues that have an impact on the wider Asian region.Responsibilities:Produce a steady supply of original, value-added, and impactful stories that also meet the highest editorial standardsCandidates may be deployed to either the Digital or TV platforms, but must be prepared to produce content spanning various platforms such as digital, TV, or radioOutput from digital correspondents should run a full gamut of story formats, from news, features and analysis to commentaries and special projectsDeliverables from TV correspondents will include live hits, news stories, feature packages, and multi-part feature seriesBuild up a reliable network of officials, business people, analysts, and private-sector professionalsMonitor news developments in China and the region; provide prompt, concise, and accurate updates to guide editorial decisionsExercise sound judgment in identifying possible story ideas from news developments that will be interesting and impactful for our audienceProvide suggestions to senior editors in forward planning of major eventsContribute to efforts in adopting new technology, social media toolsRequirements:At least four years of editorial experience, with prior reporting experience of covering the greater China region a plusA news junkie with a keen interest in the news/current affairs agenda in China and across AsiaOutstanding writing skills, newsgathering abilities, and a never-give-up spiritComfortable in front of the camera and skilled in crafting TV news packages and featuresA sound understanding of geopolitical sensitivities, and awareness of potential red linesWorking fluency in Chinese language, with basic ability to interpret or translate between English and ChineseAn independent operator with solid inter-personal skills who can also be a strong team playerPrior experience in working with visuals/AI/social media tools a plusPrepared to work irregular shifts including on weekends and public holidays
