Optical systems program director

They converge R D, emerging technologies, digital transformation, and commercial market innovations with military capabilities to develop disruptive solutions tailored to the specific requirements of its customers.Responsibilities:Provide strategic direction and leadership for the high-resolution optical Earth observation satellite program, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer requirements.Manage and supervise the optical systems program manager and the lead optical systems payload engineer, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of program objectives.Provide technical expertise and oversight for the design, development, integration, and testing of optical satellite payloads and instruments, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry best practices.Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, customers, and internal teams, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the program lifecycle.Develop and manage program budgets, resource allocations, and procurement activities to optimize program efficiency and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the program and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize impact and ensure successful program delivery.Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to uphold the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety in all aspects of the program.Monitor program progress, milestones, and deliverables, and provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on program status, achievements, and challenges.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in the Earth observation satellite market.Qualifications:Bachelor s degree (BSc) or higher in a relevant engineering or science discipline (e.g., aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or related field).12-15 years of progressive experience in the design, development, and management of optical satellite payloads and instruments, with a proven track record of successful program leadership and delivery.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve ambitious program objectives.Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, including engagement with government agencies, industry partners, and customers.Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to effectively plan, schedule, and track program activities and deliverables.Willingness to relocate to Abu Dhabi, UAE, and work in a dynamic and multicultural environment
