They are constantly growing by creating new technologies through its Research and Development efforts and branch into new business lines through Investments and Acquisitions.Responsibilities:Conduct rigorous simulations to identify deviations between simulated and actual conditions.Utilize the wide refinery model post-SROP (Short-Range Optimization Program) optimization to identify operational opportunities within the refinery.Define the necessary data and workflow processes to maintain and update rigorous simulations.Develop non-linear equations to incorporate operational variables into the PIMS AO (Advanced Optimization) model.Maintain accuracy of the hybrid model for LP (Linear Programming) Engineers.Collaborate with process engineers to ensure accurate simulation outputs and identify bottleneck constraints to maximize refinery benefits.Perform back-casting and issue monthly reports on rigorous simulation gaps along with required mitigations.Provide support to stakeholders in creating new models to evaluate new projects for the Downstream business.Assist ASSAY experts in calibrating TBP (True Boiling Point) and cut points to reflect actual column efficiency.Publish articles in leading trade magazines and/or industry journals.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.Minimum of 9 years of professional experience in consulting and/or refinery industries, with an in-depth understanding of rigorous simulation for refinery processing units.Expertise in developing rigorous simulations to extract shift vectors and process objectives, with at least 7 years of experience in Aspen Technology’s HYSYS model or PETROSIM.Experience in developing rigorous simulations for hydrocracking, FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking), DHT (Dehydrogenation), catalytic and coker reforming units, including building a rigorous simulation model of a complete refinery (Wide Refinery Model).Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, and calculation methods.Expertise in international business and cross-cultural professional practices.Experience in developing integration between rigorous simulation models and ASPEN PIMS (Production Information Management System).
