They employ approximately 20,000 people and have operations mainly in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and the UK.Responsibilities: The Commercial Manager (CM) is responsible for providing commercial resource to support the growth of the business, making recommendations to the Director and Bristol Heat Networks Management Team on risk based commercial decisions to deliver against KPIs and contractual requirements.The CM will work with colleagues from business development, engineering, and delivery to shape and deliver new district heating infrastructure projects, and to support operational decision making in terms of network expansions, grant applications and pricing.The CM is responsible for preparing high quality bids and proposals, designing, and modelling the commercial structures underpinning each deal, leading commercial negotiations to contract close, and ensuring that contracts are managed through the delivery phase of the project.As a CM, you will be a key member of the team tasked with developing the Bristol business.You will work alongside internal and external lawyers, Account Directors, Engineering Managers, Analysts and Project Managers to ensure a smooth transition through the sales pipeline from bidding or targeted approaches through to contract negotiation to “on the ground works”.As Commercial Manager you will bring commercial acumen, risk management, financial rigor, and an understanding of contract structures to help realize our partners many development opportunities.As Our Commercial Manager You Will:Represent our partners l Heat with clients, customers, and other stakeholdersAdvise Sales, Delivery, Operations and Procurement teams on all commercial aspectsWork closely with clients and external lawyers to win bids, structure deals, negotiate and successfully close contractsWork with Project Managers to manage contracts post-financial close and ensure our partners risk position is protected.Such contracts could include Energy Services Agreements, Adoption Agreements, Plot Connection Agreements, Master Concession Agreements, Design Framework agreements, and all the relevant contracts between our partners and supply chain clients such as: Design Consultants; Design and Build Contractors; AMO Contractors; MBCS (Metering, Billing Customer Services); and Outsourcing suppliers.Ensure compliance with key contractual obligations within the Concession Agreement, particularly in regard to KPIs, reporting, governance and pricing.Provide advice with respect to contractual obligations, liabilities, and rightsEffective Contract Management during program executionYou Might Also:Work with the Business Development, Engineering and Delivery Operations teams to drive and deliver commercial proposals to clients such as private developers and Local Authorities, including development of commercial models for project evaluationReview the strategy for the development of the Bristol business and heat network portfolio, considering key variables and assumptions that impact KPIs, financial metrics, valuation, and risk positionsLead and drive projects through our partners internal governance groups (PSG, PRB, Transactional Risk, EGM)Lead expansion strategically around existing projects by developing additional locations and up-selling opportunities (e.g. cooling)Ensure the identification of commercial risk, develop, and implement effective mitigation strategies and actions and report the risk and progress with mitigation strategies internallyDevelop product risk assessments and pricing structures to work toward commercial efforts.Requirements:As our commercial manager you will bring a combination of strong commercial and negotiation skills, allowing you to effectively manage contracts and drive favorable outcomes. Your ability to balance conflicting requirements of quality, cost, and time will be crucial in making informed decisions under tight deadlines. Additionally, your aptitude for teamwork and your influential nature will enable you to build and nurture relationships within a multicultural and diverse team.
