Software architect 8+ years for an emerging home decor portal

Primary Skills and Functional Experience: Prior architecture experience in a complex software environment. Experience in designing and implementing web API services including service management aspects of orchestration, security, hosting and analytics. Thorough understanding and experience in implementing and maintaining API framework / API service management. Knowledge of internet network security standards. Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and coding. Strong object:oriented programming skills and good understanding of common design patterns and principles. Ability to communicate technical issues or project details with stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent understanding of the SDLC, preferably Agile and Test:driven methodologies. Acumen for mentoring and growing team members. Strong ability and eagerness to quickly learn new technologies. Desired Skills and Functional Experience: Strong Ruby fundamentals and programming skills. Advanced level experience with Ruby on Rails, RSpec, and Cucumber. Experience providing and consuming RESTful web services, SOAP, XML:RPC, and JSON. Development experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX. Understanding of major browsers and the special considerations required for each. Strong experience in relational database and SQL. Familiarity with NoSQL databases, Distributed Caches and Data:Grids. Experience on UNIX, Linux platform. Experience with Git.
