Job Description: Manager - Power Transformer TestingPosition Overview:As the Manager - Power Transformer Testing, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the testing operations related to power transformers. Your role will involve developing and implementing testing strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, managing a team of professionals, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality testing services. Your expertise in power transformer testing and strong leadership skills will be crucial in driving operational excellence and achieving business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute the overall testing strategy for power transformers, including short-term and long-term goals, in alignment with the company s objectives.Establish and enforce standard testing procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Lead a team of testing professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management to foster a high-performing and motivated workforce.Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure efficient testing processes, timely delivery of results, and effective problem-solving.Evaluate and select testing equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance testing capabilities and improve efficiency.Monitor and analyze testing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and quality enhancement.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their requirements, and ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in testing methodologies, and regulatory changes to drive innovation and maintain industry leadership.Manage budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance related to the testing department, ensuring cost-effective operations and achievement of financial targets.Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the testing department, emphasizing adherence to safety protocols and driving a proactive approach to quality assurance.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. A master s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is preferred.Experience in testing transformers up to 400 Kv class desirable. Experience in short-circuit testing is a mustExtensive experience in power transformer testing, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies, equipment, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).Proven experience in a leadership role, managing a team of technical professionals and driving operational excellence.In-depth knowledge of power transformer design, construction, and operation.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret testing data and provide actionable insights.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.Strong business acumen and the ability to develop and execute strategies to achieve business objectives.Proficiency in using testing software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.Professional certifications related to power transformer testing or relevant areas would be advantageous.
