The position requires technical competence inmachinery design, competence in manufacturing techniques, decision making and leadership abilities, aswell as the ability to manage time and schedules for completion of engineering projects. The Design Engineer must communicate with Management, Purchasing and Production Departments on a daily basis, and must be able to make sound engineering decisions in a timely manner, and with little supervision.Duties and Responsibilities Performs necessary functions to design and develop new or existing refrigeration units and generator sets. Completes work from input requirements or instructions to design new components or redesign.existing components to improve our products. Determines and establishes specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. Oversees and assists with assembly of refrigeration prototypes. Communicates with vendors to obtain information and application assistance. Is responsible for assuring that there is no “gap” between Engineering and Production departments, i.e. is responsible for meeting design criteria and timelines for completion of prototypejobs and other production and/or design jobs assigned to.General Duties and Responsibilities Maintain friendly, cooperative relations with customers, vendors, company personnel and management. Follow all Company personnel policies and procedures. Demonstrate the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations. Anticipate problems and make recommendations.
