Junior data scientist full time remote

As a junior data scientist at our company, you will collaborate as a team member on analytical and modeling tasks, developing solutions related to public health and safety, homeland security, international engagement, and emerging infectious disease, under the guidance of senior data scientists and principal investigators. Our example projects that might excite you include using computational probability and statistics to perform disease modeling and forecasting, implementing natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning-based natural language generation (NLG) capabilities to identify and combat misinformation about vaccines and infectious disease, and mathematical modeling of the spread of pathogens under certain environmental conditions, to name a few.Duties:In this position you will have an aptitude for and interest in learning and applying one or more techniques in statistics, computational probability, NLP, NLG, neural networks, and deep learning, and to work with a mentor to become an expert in one or more of these technologies over time.You will collaborate with your co-workers to become knowledgeable in the broad portfolio of our projects including but not limited to infectious diseases, global health security, biosafety, biosecurity, emergency preparedness and response, biotechnology, and/or public health.As part of project-focused work, you will seek out and define new data collection and analysis strategies, always on the lookout for new tools and techniques that can improve our work.Communication is key at our company.
