DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for splicing fiber optic cables in telecommunications networks, as well as testing and troubleshooting equipment. As a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of our clients communication systems.ResponsibilitiesSplice fiber optic cables using fusion splicers and mechanical splicing equipmentInstall and prepare splice enclosures, fiber-optic distribution cabinets and termination panelsTest fiber optic cables using Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), power meters, and light sourcesTroubleshoot faults in fiber optic networksInterpret manuals and schematics to carry out routine maintenance and repairsEnsure adherence to safety regulations and proceduresMaintain accurate records of all work performedRequirementsMinimum of high school diploma or equivalentCertificate/diploma in fiber optics or related fieldAt least 2 years’ experience in fiber optics splicing and testingKnowledge of fiber optic network infrastructureAbility to read and interpret schematicsExperience using OTDRs, splicing equipment, and testing equipmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills, both written and verbal Powered by Webbtree
